Nanteuil-en-Vallée

On Friday 3rd July 2026, the club enjoyed a photographic outing to the picturesque village of Nanteuil-en-Vallée, one of the Charente’s most attractive historic villages. Despite the warm summer weather, members enjoyed a relaxed day exploring the village and its many photographic opportunities, with regular refreshment stops helping everyone stay cool throughout the day.

Although several members had visited Nanteuil-en-Vallée before, there were still plenty of new discoveries to be made. The hidden gardens and peaceful woodland walk proved to be particular highlights, offering welcome shade beneath the trees as well as opportunities to photograph insects, frogs around the ponds, and the area’s rich natural surroundings. The village itself also provided an abundance of character, with its historic buildings, narrow streets, colourful flowers, and tranquil atmosphere inspiring a wide variety of photographic subjects.

Lunch brought an unexpected surprise when the restaurant experienced a power cut shortly after the group arrived. Fortunately, a selection of fresh salads was available, ensuring everyone was well fed before continuing the afternoon’s exploration.

Despite the high temperatures, the outing was another enjoyable and successful club day, combining photography, good company, and the chance to discover both familiar and hidden corners of this beautiful village. A small selection of photographs from the day can be viewed below.
