This month saw the club introduce a new creative approach to our monthly challenges — ‘Beyond the Object’. Each month, members will be given a simple everyday object and encouraged to look beyond the obvious, creating images that focus on visual elements rather than easily recognisable subjects.
For July, the subject was a drinking glass.
The challenge produced a wide variety of images, with members making imaginative use of light, reflections, shapes, textures, perspective and composition. It was great to see the creativity and different approaches members brought to such a simple subject, demonstrating just how many possibilities there can be when we look beyond the object itself.
