The club visited the Jardin Botanique Universitaire de Poitiers on 10th April for a day of photography in a relaxed outdoor setting. This peaceful botanical garden provided a wide variety of subjects, including themed planting areas, ponds, and woodland sections.
Members were able to explore a range of photographic approaches, from close-up and macro work with flowers, textures, and insects, to more considered compositions using natural patterns, colour, and reflections within the garden environment. Some members chose to visit a local restaurant for lunch, while others enjoyed a picnic within the grounds, before continuing with further photography in the afternoon. It was an enjoyable and well-attended outing, offering something of interest for all levels. A selection of images taken during the visit can be viewed below.
