Photography Exhibition Opportunity – “Transmission” (Moussac-sur-Vienne)
On 12 September 2026, the media library in Moussac-sur-Vienne will officially be named “Elise and Jeanne” in tribute to Élise Guyonnet and her daughter Jeanne, both originally from Moussac.
Élise died in the Buchenwald concentration camp during the Second World War. Jeanne survived and returned home following the liberation. To preserve their story, Jeanne’s granddaughter, Annie, has written a short book, which has recently been translated into English by two residents of Moussac. Martine brought copies to our recent meeting for members to see.
As part of the inauguration, the organisers have invited the photography clubs of Luchapt and Saulgé to contribute photographs for a small exhibition. Martine has kindly offered to act as our liaison with the organisers.
Theme: Transmission
The organisers have deliberately chosen a broad theme that can be interpreted creatively. Possible ideas include:

- Memory
- Heritage
- Family
- Knowledge and learning
- Traditions
- Passing on skills or values
- Generations
- Connections between people
- The movement or transfer of information, ideas or emotions
“Transmission” can refer to anything that is passed from one person, place or generation to another, whether it is physical, emotional, cultural or symbolic. Members are encouraged to interpret the theme in their own personal and creative way.
