For January 2026, the club’s monthly photography challenge focused on the theme “Bokeh”, inviting members to explore the creative use of out-of-focus areas within an image. The challenge encouraged careful control of depth of field, with attention given to aperture settings, lens choice, and subject distance in order to produce a pleasing separation between subject and background. Members experimented with how light and background detail can be rendered as soft shapes or highlights, adding atmosphere and visual interest to their images.
